I think the point was its possible, but either with sacrifices(melee damage or tech levels) or with extremely high level to make up for the gap in stats between the mags and weapons usable by your level of character.

Trillia/RAcaseal/Lv137/Greenill/Weapons probably using: Rainbow baton, Soul Eater, Red handgun
Daylanomi/HUnewearl/Lv56/Redria/Weapons probably using: Demolition comet, Double cannon
Amy/FOmarl/Lv52/Pinkal/Weapons probably using: Prophets of Motav
