I wonder if they haven't already butchered the story.
If you'll recall, there's a sequence in which Angel is shown as being in some sort of laboratory. In the comics, Angel has a healing factor which is can others can use if they take in some of his blood (ugh! One of Marvel's worse 'secondary mutations!'). When I saw Warren in that laboratory in the trailer, my first speculation was that the cure comes from a derivative of the healing factor that's found in his blood. After all, there's got to be some reason why they're depicting him in the film. The fact that he can fly doesn't seem like enough of a reason to give him a role. That's particularly true considering that there are a ton of other mutants around who have far more visually exciting powers.
Hopefully I'm wrong, however.
