1. Duping is not legit, you can argue that you backup for fsod or w/e.
But the fact is Sonic Team never intended the Duping glitch to work.
I know how, but I never dupe.

I thought up a logical justification for it actually:
- When online, an illegal power down causes all unequipped/banked items to be lost.
- Causes of that power down include FSOD, LSOD, power outages, etc.
- Items are lost online so that a person does not drop his items, have a friend get them, then power down illegall, and therefore have duplicate copies of an item being used.
- Making a backup of an item ensures that there will only be one copy of the item used, and if that copy is lost to FSOD, there will still only be one copy of that item used. Therefore, you are adhering to what Sonic Team wanted.

And on another note... I cannot link to this post directly, but you may want to read the printscreen of it.
There are limitations on backups.

2.Fragment of Memories was supposed to come out on GC. Never released cause Gamecube official servers are dead.

Sonic Team fixed Opeth's login hack, didn't they? And like I said with the DLQ's, Sonic Team has no resposibility to do anything, at all, whatsoever, in any way, shape, or form. So, you, Ade, and many others can stop using that as some sort of justification. It is entirely false.

3.Everyone has their own definition of Legit.
I often risk fsoding to play with v2 chars on GC. i also have a v2 char who I trade weps with. You can argue that that is not legit, but I feel that if I spend all that time searching for rares on v2 it is no diffrent then giving weps to your GC chars at low lvls.

Then you have no idea what the droprates for V2 are. Let me enlighten you.

4.You are playing on a hacked ship, with data stolen from Sonic Team. Sega never intended you to access this server so that right there makes you unlegit.

Sega did put the DNS option in there. The most you can accuse it of is being illegal. Legitimacy depends on how you play, not where you play it.

5.Techinically you should still be on Sonic Team servers still geting fsoded byu Optimus, because Sega was given the info to stop fsod but did not want to take the time to implement.

There still people on ST who manage to avoid FSOD. Many of them have backups too, just incase. Then there are AR Anti-Codes and proxies that can be used to stop FSOD. In regard to what you said about ST not fixing FSOD, see my reply to #2. They didn't have to, but their choice not to did cause them alot of costumers.

Besides, If you play on the server that means that basically Tink and wild one are your sonic team now.

Tink and Wild One have absolutely NO control over the standards of legitimacy. So what, they have a ship? Guess what, alot of people have servers now thanks to Kohle. I have a LAN server too. Lee has a server, but he does not make legitimacy AT ALL XD (not Lee-Yoshi, a different Lee who has been making absurd download quests). Sonic Team still owns the game.

They have a term for people like Sonic4997 over at the Scht boards, actually. (my beef with them is the fact that some of them tend to apply it FAR too quickly to people like myself and Whiteninja >_>)

That is something I have found to be increasing funny recently. I have been called too legit, and an anal legit because I don't do the new quests or the download quests... Well, guess what. Before February, NO ONE had ever killed a 100% spawn Torr. NO ONE had played a custom quest. NO ONE had downloaded a quest. Yet, they were not anal legits. They were just plain, old legits.

I have played this game that way for nearly a year and a half. I have well over 2000 hours on it. I have gotten by doing it that way for the entirety of the time I have played PSO. I have not changed at all.

It is YOU who have changed your standards of legitmacy. It is YOU who say that I "art holier than thee" now. It is YOU who say I am too legit. If you believe my legitimacy is higher than yours, it is because you believe you have somehow belittled your own.



*** In the last part of the post, "you" does not refer to Sonic4997v3 specifically, but to anyone who thinks that I am too legit because I continue to play the way you all used too.

Edit: I forgot to mention, if you don't think that I am an anal legit for not doing the quests, then that means you see your legitimacy as perfectly intact... Which is fine with me. I only ever get in arguments with those who insist that I am too legit.
