In Version 2, it seems to me that getting the S-ranks early was the only way. Most good rares are far too rare. You'll see a huge proportion of new Ultimate Moders using Imperial Picks and Red Handguns; it gets boring after a while.

There are some excellent prizes from ultimate mode quests, but you need good equipts to do these quests, and you need to beat these quests to get the good equipment. After your first character, it's hand-me-downs all the way.

red handguns and imperial picks.....you bet, i see them all the time, but in my opinion they are GREAT weapons to be used.
