Not quite understanding whatcha getting at there o_O
Anyway, there are other reasons I play the game I guess - if I think about it -_-;
I did at first enjoy the combat style. Whilst it isn't true free combat it's not exactly turn based. The combos I actually used to find a challenge for some weapons. I must have been a stupid challenged kid.
I did enjoy the sound track before it bored me to death. But that isn't because it's not a good sound track, it's because I have heard it over and over and over...
I remember being a newbie seemed to add layers to the game. The first rare I found on my Greenill Hucast called DUSK was Varista. I was absolutely amazed that I had found the so called rare and that is where the red crate addiction started.
I needed more and more and it didnt even matter if I sometimes got the same weapon

Apart from the Wals rifle. That haunted me soooo much -_-;
What I'm trying to say is yes there are loads of reasons to play PSO but most of them are old news for me. But there's nothing like an online FFA scramble to get that red crate in Ep 4. It just makes you feel great when you swipe it ^_^ or maybe I'm just mean <_<;
The bosses I thought were imaginative, but I was dissapointed in ep 2 and 4 when in ult there were no visual or other changes to the monsters/bosses apart from things like tech resistances.
When I found hunters and rangers too boring to play with because the combo systems got old (and so did missing -_-) the force class kept me going much longer because of the many spells to upgrade, learn and use. I still play force today when I occasionally wander onto BB (but my PC locks up after I close PSOBB down so thats not often).
Some of the online quests were cool and strange, like Dream messenger and meeting random past ST characters from Sonic and KNiGHTS was fun.
Then there was chatting in the lobby, gogoball and chair races

fun times...
