Offline on JP has already been hacked into, but online, so far, seems pretty secure.
The total server-side system helps a fair bit with this, I imagine. The protection on PSU's Network Mode should ensure that only those who can actually , y'know, hack can cheat online - we will probably see it at some point though, and can only hope that Sega is up to the task of dealing with it.
