Chapter One
Plug Sockets
"Any safe way for me to tell you your arse looks huge in that dress?"
"Not a single one."
"I'll say nothing then."
Dr. Aroma Harliter turned her head to regard Rejik with her clear blue eyes. Her crimson red hair swept across the back of her head as she did, settling in layers down her back. She pushed a loose strand back behind her ear before looking down at her dress. It made her feel uncomfortable.
It was a shimmering, sapphire blue, glimmering under her touch. She stroked a hand down the fabric, holding out her skirts for examination. The dress went all the way down to her feet, with a slit in one side all the way up to her inner thigh. She shifted the dress, revealing a long, smooth, pale leg and a navy blue dancing slipper. Also, strapped to her thigh with black velcro was her Angelous handgun. The top half of the dress was like a corset, pushing her breasts up so that they seemed much larger than they were. She looked down at her forced cleavage and frowned.
"Stop worrying," Rejik commanded, "you look ridiculously fabulous. I swear you glow when you're proud of yourself."
Aroma stopped surveying her dress to look again at Rejik, "sometimes Reji, you can be quite the charmer."
"And sometimes you have a moustache. There are many things we don't like being broadcast."
In comparison with Aroma's style and dress sense Rejik looked abysmal. He had managed to force himself into a tuxedo, but it was a battle neither of them had escaped unscathed. The bowtie was askew, several buttons had ripped off, revealing much of his blood red armous plating. Even his trousers were too high up. The laces of his shoes were tucked into themselves and a chocolate bar was sticking out of the pocket of the jacket. Aroma sighed, then went to make corrections.
"You know," she began, buttoning up the jacket to hide the mess he had made of his shirt, "if you put a bit more effort into your appearance you could probably find yourself a nice Caseal."
"I need no Caseal, there are plenty of plug sockets around here."
"Ew, Reji!" she slapped his chest playfully and grinned at him, incapable of controlling it. She dragged the bowtie off him and knelt down to sort his shoes for him. Sometimes she felt sorry for him. It wasn't his fault his hands were so big he couldn't tie his laces.
"And what Caseal would want a Cast who needs a woman to tie his shoes for him?"
Aroma knew better than to continue the discussion. Instead she simply knotted his laces, then moved up to undo his trousers and lower them.
"Besides, name a Caseal who would simply drop my trousers and have a fiddle like this?"
"Watch yourself Rejik," the Doctor repied icily as she rebuttoned his trousers low enough to cover all of his legs and feet. She came back to full height and pointed a finger at him, "you will not make jokes like that about me, understand?"
"I only wished to say that you are irreplaceable. What woman, Caseal or otherwise, could ever possibly compare to you?"
A grin attached itself to Aroma's face as she threw her arms around his metal throat.
"Okay baby girl, let's get dancing."
"Okay, just one more thing."
She left on his arm, chocolate bar in the other. If she was going to go dancing she intended to have an extra chocolate fix.[/COLOR]
