I'm not sure everyone understood what I meant. :/ A bit late to be addressing these problems really. 
Let's take 1, 2 and 3 as different parts of the timeline.
I think what you're all thinking is that Person A writes a bit, then person B takes over, then person C etc.
So it's like A1 B2 C3 etc.
But what I meant is that everyone writes their part of the WHOLE story.
So it's like A123 B123 C123 etc.
Get it?
Before you start shouting at me, it won't get repetitive because each person has a different story pretty much, it just overlaps.
THEREFORE we can all write our bits at the same time. As long as you talk to whoever you're crossing over with first to settle on the events, we don't need someone to "start".
