I was thrown out of my old dojo for taking on fighters above my level and beating them. Though when nobody my own level would fight me it was tough to advance. I defeated my master a few times, because I learnt what he DID, not what he TAUGHT.
I have had a few contests that ended badly, though most have been more favourable than my last. After that I just fought in the underground combat rings because I felt it was all I was good for. As for fighting styles, mine has become less refined by sheer use. I melded a few different styles together to produce my own. And it has served me well in the past.
And really, I require no applause for doing it. We're both ecstatic about having children, I just hope I live up to the expectations placed on me. But I will NEVER turn my back, I will kill before I do that.
