As I said earlier, the difference is believing what is likely over what you would want to be likely. I have many religious friends, and much of my family are religious. I don't really care who is religious and who's not. I just believe I have the right to express my views on religion, if some religious people have the right to disrespect me and tell me that "You're going to hell!"
Respect is mutual, and when all religion respects my ways of doing things... Then I'll give all religion respect. And since there will always be fundamental loonies about, I don't see that day coming any time soon!
Maybe I just have issues with fundamentalists really, I have no problem with liberals or even traditionalists. I reckon' liberal Buddhism is pretty awesome. Not so into the ways of the fundamental Muslims though, they actually believe I deserve to die just for not being born one of them. However that again is just fundamentalists.
In short Liberalism>Fundamentalism
... Although I still think most religion is more of a social gathering than an actual belief.
