"Man is avarice, therefore is he man."
We believe whatever we want to, and damn the rest. Everyone has a faith in something, but it doesn't always constitute as something groundbreaking.
With want of a better example, take me. I have faith in very little apart from things I know from first-hand experience, and the people I trust completely and utterly, even so far as to offer my life to keep them from harm. I have faith in my fighting abilities, that they shall be used by me only to protect others. But I'm not stupid. One of my favourite sayings is "You're but a man." Nobody is immortal, nobody is invincible. Keeping that in mind keeps me from taking huge risks and making brash decisions that are brought forth through anger and rage.
The reason we stay alive, our purpose, is to discover the purpose of our lives. That's what I think, and that's the purpose of the world. When it's served it's given purpose, it will fade away.
