Dark Matter was proposed as a result of galaxies spinning faster on the outer rims than it's internal mass would allow for. Sometimes spinning faster than the galatic core of the galaxy observed. Dark matter would be this, similar to a photon, something with mass, no charge and it doesn't interact with the surrounding environment. That is of course unless you count the gravitational effects you see from it.
I took Physics and AP Physics Mirinee, but mine were Newtonian physics. We barely got into charges and electricity before the end of the semester.
