Reading Japanese isn't enough. I can read some Japanese. You then have to translate that into English.

The stuff on the left is called hiragana. The middle bit is called romanji and the bit on the left.... erm.... lol
Now I can't go straight from seeing hiragana to English. I have to translate to romanji, then English.
Japanese are weary of outsiders. And in most circumstance, they are right to be. We are very greedy as a most. I might create a guide to playing with Japanese.
Best thing to do is shortcut "Shall I join you?" from the lobby. When you join, use word select and create "I live in England". Then press the shortcut that you assigned "Shall I join you?" too. Wait for a yes or a no... They should be able to reply in English for you.
