About the error message you get, where the screen suddenly goes black or whatever and says 'An Error has occured. Please reset your Nintendo Gamecube console and consult your Instruction Manual for more information' or something along that line. I get it sometimes aswell, and it's probabily due to the condition of the disc. It starts skipping and not being able to load ths scenario at that time so it shuts itself offline and asks you to reset and try again. My disc im surprised still works! The edge of the disc has tiny little erosion marks on it!
If it does that quite regularly, either leave it alone, contact SEGA support and enquire, or buy another copy! It's the only reason it may be doing it to be honest.
