Kevin, let me be the first to say that Mad Katz makes the poorest quality stuff ever. I bought a controller of theirs and I swear to you just a day later it was destroyed. I did nothing to it (like drop it), it just suddenly started malfunctioning. Also you obviously don't understand how corruption works because you wouldn't take it so lightly if you did. When the freeze occurs during the second save, it's always right away so no matter how fast it saves, you can still corrupt because the freeze occurs immediately. Besides, you said over a period of three years which is BS because the game hasn't even been out that long AND you've only owned that Mad Katz for a month at most. After owning the Mad Katz for three years, we'll see how many times you corrupt. Stick with Nintendo brand cards, I've only corrupted twice in nearly 2 years of playing time and they were both partly my fault because I didn't heed my own steps to avoiding corruption, they aren't foolproof but they help a lot (haven't corrupted in a year).
