If there door is there that means you have not gotten the pillars. In Forest 2, Caves 2, and Mines 2, there is a pillar. You must activate them in order to get to the ruins. And if the door isn't there you must go to the ruins and then go back to Pioneer 2 to actually unlock it permanetly.
