OK they can't really do much for the GameCube and XBox versions. They're on a disc, there's no way to patch files on a disc. PC however can be patched.
If they make the new versions of PSO more secure, It will make it worth it.
Plus, sega can't always ban someone just because someone is allegedly cheating/hacking/duping. They need hard evidence, which is very hard to come by. If they ban a paying user without hard evidence, then they lose x number of dollars per month from that person. Plus, all you would need to say is "So-and-so is cheating/hacking/duping" where so-and-so is someone who made you mad, and they'll be banned without proof.
