Anyway, I've got some more stuff for you all now that somebody has responded.
Kangae smothered the end of his cigarette on the floor, wincing as the truck came to a sudden halt. Next to him sat a row of androids, now awakening from their dormant state and preparing themselves with the gear hanging next to them. The metal bench like structure he was seated on had mainly ranger class androids, each loaded down with both a photon rifle, launcher, and plenty of ammunition for both. Opposite of them, the hunters clicked to life. The Newman felt small compared to them, glistening dark metal letting their glowing eyes stand out devilishly in the dim lighting. The back of the vehicle was lowered and set upon the ground, forming a ramp for them to descend from. With unnerving precision the soulless figures filed out and away ahead of him, letting out a sigh, he shouldered his cane and followed suit. Out in the artificial daylight, it felt like he had just entered a graveyard. The buildings around him had been evacuated that morning, meaning that he and the drivers were the only living beings within the immediate are. Deathly quiet, like a scene from some old flick except this time the situation was real. A chubby man of middle height approached him, a wiry mustache stretched across his upper lip as he spoke.
"So, how ya feelin' kid?" Though the driver's tone was considerate, yet the FOnewm replied coldly.
"I hope that was a rhetorical question." Silence reigned again and the man shifted nervously, this Newman was starting to creep him out. Sensing that it wasn't the best thing to be cruel at that point and time, the younger individual continue.
"So these are the military issue androids, they're not exactly lively as one would expect from this age."
"No need for them big folks to be spending money on personality chips for them, the ideal soldier doesn't need to feel, you know." The older man shook his head while speaking, glancing at the other as if trying to gauge his response before it came.
"Slaves you mean." Kangae snorted, walking away from the driver. What hopes there had been for a conversation dead, the human went back to his truck and rested his head on the steering wheel. Kids like him don't need to be throwing away their youth like this.. The FOnewm yawned, taking no relish from the fact that this was the second consecutive night without sleep that week. Switching the weapon between hands, he wiped the sweat from his right palm on his hip and reviewed his position. He was to be the backup, another line of trucks carrying mechanical warriors had went up ahead to form the first defense at the suspected entry point. If any of them leaked through, it was up to their thinly stretched numbers to prevent them from getting any farther. Each defensive line had a row of hunters in the lead, a row of rangers in the middle, and another string of hunters in the back. Looking about him at the dolls gathered there, he couldn't help but remember his home. All of their butlers and maids had been humanoids, lifelike, skin, hair, eyes, at first you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between them and the residents. His first crush had been on his own personal caretaker, a humanoid, and unable to return any love given. She had been soft, she had been willing, but she hadn't been human. Eventually her operating system became outdated, and his parents wanted to replace her. He being mentally attached as he was, didn't want to let go. They refused to offer support towards her maintenance and repair, so there was little he could do but hold on until she faded away completely to malfunctions and memory loss.
Smiling to himself, the newman stretched and tapped the smooth stone of the 'nut cracker' in his palm. Little flurries of warmth gathered in his hand as he did so, via the effect of the meteorite. Ever since then, he had been somewhat spoiled in matters concerning women, and paranoid when it came to dealing with androids. These thoughts eventually wandered over to Jennifer, where had she been taken too? The HUnewearl had not received a time and place to be that day, or if she had the half newman refused to admit the truth to him. Martha was at another major defense line, she hadn't slept much, but still was in better condition to fight than he. The rest of the Hunter's Guild was left with the military to guard the innermost city and other areas secluded areas, though there was a promised relief of fresh fighters and ammunition. He was being monitored by scientists and the like by a mag hovering at his shoulder, apparently they wanted to see how he did in battle and see how the creatures reacted to his presence. Kangae has protested this to no end, but his efforts came to no avail. In a way of displaying his disgust at the situation, he used finger fire to scrawl black letters on the wall of a building, the words read "Fuck the authority"; Then he promptly relieved himself on the same spot afterwards.
"They've landed boy, be on your guard out there." Called a voice from the ovular radio resting at his hip. The FOnewm didn't reply immediately, but chose to catch up to the android that were now moving out to the to-be-battlefield. Another message signaled out in the quiet, this time more demanding. Snatching the comm. unit from his side he snapped a reply.
"Just make sure those fuckers come my way, I'll take care of everything else."
