Maybe it's just me, but I'm noticing some differences in finding items with my fifth character - a RAmarl/Greenill. I created this character two days ago, and earlier tonight I finished normal mines. But the strange thing is, this character seems to be picking up units rather often. In the caves, I was finding General-level units (two General/Powers for instance), when IIRC I would usually find low-level units. I also found a Nar Lily which dropped a General/Mind. I know Greenills are supposed to find rare rifles often (that's why I got Greenill in the first place; my RAmar/Redria doesn't have very good chances in that department), but do they tend to find good units, as well?
A related question about this character: during the mines I found an S-Parts ver2.01. It was dropped by a Gillchic, I think (it was in the reddish room of Mine 1 and it was in the third "wave"). This is rare for normal, correct? I don't know of any good drop charts (that are currently available); what are the chances of this?
