I went to Italy on a school trip, and we went to the Solfatara (whatever its called). The guy poked a stick into the ground, and asked someone to put their finger in it. I did it, and....HOLY CRAP was that hot!
Just so you know, where he poked the hole in the ground, it was 7 metres btween the ground and molten lava.....
