Here are some more match results from last night.
Redhead (RED) beat Zallya (Zallya). In REDs own words, it was a win but it was a meaningless one. Poor Zallya had some awful luck with draws and dice rolls. By the time Zallya had got the first item equipped the match was already in the bag for RED.
Risu (Risu) beat Readhead (RED). This match was a hell of a lot closer than either parties or myself expected. Does this mean that Redhead will be kicking butt and taking names if we have a 2005 league?
Risu (Risu) beat UK Jester (Jester). Well, actually what happened was Risu steamrollered Jester. The match was short, sour and painful. I had the pleasure of rolling snake eyes after all my equipment had been trashed. Three hits later my HP looked rather silly compared to the 20 Risu had, but as I said to Risu, if the boot was on the other foot I would have shown no mercy either. This match was only memorable for the huge amount of editing we both did before the battle. And also for Risu changing decks because he wasn't convinced his 1st choice would do it. All I can say is it didn't matter.
UK Jester (Jester) beat Ruma (Ruma). My league deck needed to be completely reworked as I had trashed it while playing some non league matches. I fully expected a Tech deck so geared my defence heavily to that way. I got it wrong! As luck would have it, while rushing to recreate my deck, I skipped replacing a few cards and they turned out to be the poison apple for Ruma. Despite stuffing Rumas deck like a Christmas Turkey this was not the steamrollering in under 5 minutes like Risu vs myself. On a side note, Ruma had been out clubbing so was a little worse the wear from having a good time - I had (and still have) a rotten flu, and during the match I had mail from Risu which I kept reading, then RED grabbed the keyboard to reply to comments made in the mail! Suffice to say the mail was not any form of help for me, but more of a continuation of our earlier conversation! RED grabbing the keyboard just as I was about to select a defence card left me all of 5 seconds to act. Think I'll ban both of them from watching any of my future battles.
I was also informed (because I was asked not to watch the battle, although RED could) that poor Zallya lost to Risu. From what I have been told Zallyas deck did the abadonment trick again again and then external pressure to get offline strated shortly after the match started. If there was a catergory for most unluckiest player in the Ragol.co.uk awards I'd have to vote for Zallya. But at least Zallya has consistantly shown up for the league matches no matter how bad things have been, unlike a certain other player who joined, lost 3 in a row and then vanished. This is only a game people! Win, lose or draw, we can all learn something from each battle - I sure have.
