If you had recovery traps, it would pretty much end your dependance on mates and HP-stealing weapons (which is the big handicap for androids). The reason there are no slow traps? Well, there's no way to cause slowness on any enemy, so I don't think there's any code in the game that allows enemies to be slowed down (note that sometimes a damage or confuse trap you run into can also affect them, but this doesn't work with slow traps).
