no, you should not have the right to take your life. You have the right to join the army get shot, and die though
. There always have to be limitations with what someone can do with their lives. Otherwise, someone will either want to be a world conqueror, kill themselves and others in the process, or regret it just before dying but powerless to come back. My Dad took his life 4 or so years ago, its not fun, trust me. While I'm not emotionally battered etc, I obviously still miss him. But these things happen, you cannot control ones fate all the time. Still, no one should be given the right to or have to consider suicide.
edit: I have more to say having read the rest of the thread. Now, everyone does have the option to take their life in this example and a few others. If your sick and your going to die, you have the option to end your suffering depending on the severity. Now, you don't have the option to take your like because your broke or something. Personally, I think none of you should be commenting on this so freely and surely because some of your have never lost a loved one to suicide. Some of your might have but a lot of you seem to have made up your mind. Its a lot different when you get driven to school one day and everything seems normal and suddenly your playing with your friends in PE and you get a call from your mom like "I can't find dad, he hasn't come home from his walk yet" or something and then you get phone calls for a hospital about a unidentified man and the cops come etc *rambles* (kinda based what happened to me, in different words, but I guess there were signs, there are always signs >_<).
