No, soft reset will never corrupt you, on the contrary, it can help prevent it.

By "soft reset" I meant pressing and holding down B+X+Y+Start buttons.
If you're online, this will save & quit the game.
If you're offline you will return the menu screen discarding all changes.
So go offline, open the Easter Egg, and if you do not like the weapon you got, soft reset and repeat the process.
