Chapter 8: Attack Team: Part 2 -Medusa's Tower-PS1-
Logan looked at the outline in the smoke, and made out the shape of a large gun. "DU-UCK!" He screamed, dropping to the floor. Everyone lay on the floor, as a hail of bullets swept the room. "What the hell's going on!?!" Giga Bert shouted out, "The Dragon found US!" Logan shouted back. After another minute, the firing stopped. No-one moved, as the Dragon surveyed it's work. Satisfied, it flew off again. "...It's safe..." Sephiroth hissed. Everyone got up. "...That was annoying...it got away..." PETE said, dusting himself down. "Yeah, well, we can get it further up ahead. Come on!" Rhys shouted, striding towards the door. "What about Infinete?" Sleppy asked. "....." "Let's just look for the dragon first, okay?" Sephiroth chipped in. Everyone went silent for a moment. "Let's go!" Rhys called to them, as he ran ahead...
"Aaagh...my back..." Infinete moaned, as he got up. The floor he had landed on was very uneven, and had splintered underneath him, breaking his fall. He looked around. He was in a pitch black room. "Now how did it go again?" Infinete tried to remember, "ah...I know! Flash!" The room lit up. The floor was covered in skeletons and wreckage, "Yaaah! ...Is this what happened to the Pioneer 1 army!?!" a hissing voice replied, "Yes...thiss wass Pioneer onee..." Infinete span, and beheld the Dragon. Infinete was stunned, and did not move as it shot his legs. "AAGH!!!" Infinete screamed, as he gave way and fell to the floor, helpless. "Youu arre no longerr a threatt...I shall destroyy the resst annd returrn forr youu!" It roared, as it trudged off. Infinete thought to himself as he lay there, "Good thing there're a lot of us..."
"Hmm...looks like I went too far ahead..." Rhys thought to himself, as he wandered lost and alone. He stepped through another door, and froze. The Dragon was asleep, in the middle of the floor. "It clearly thought it'd got everyone, and must have wanted a sleep. Bad move!" Rhys thought to himself, as he drew his sword. Then he heard it. A slight moaning from the room in front. Rhys shrugged, "You'll get yours in a moment...let's see..." He thought, as he opened the door...
"It's no use, we have taken a wrong turn AGAIN!" DAN shouted, frustrated. "Calm down. We should retrace our steps. Anyone remember how we got here?" Logan asked. "Naah." "No..." Logan slapped his face. "Nnghh...fine, we will telepipe back to Pioneer 2 and start over!" Everyone agreed. "Bah, Rhys gets to have all the fun..." Sleppy moaned as they took a telepipe...
"Ugh...Rhys?" Infinete asked, as he strained to look up. "What happened to you man? We thought you had died!" Rhys said aghast. "I landed on...some wreckage, which broke my fall. Then the Dragon shot my legs out. I'll bleed to death if I don't get some attention soon!" Infinete started to panic. Rhys pulled out the Final Remedy. "Here, drink a little of this..." Infinete raised an eyebrow, but obeyed him. He gulped down half, and a shocked look appeared on his face. "What the hell is that!?!" Infinete asked, as he leapt up. Rhys whistled, "Looks like DarkMagician wasn't exaggerating..." "DarkMagician made this? Wow!" Infinete stretched. "Let's both sneak up on the Dragon and ambush it!" Rhys whispered, as they both entered the Dragon's room again. "I'll take the head, you take the body." Infinete nodded. They drew their weapons, and got in position. Infinete next to the Dragon, Rhys started climbing the wall next to it. Infinete motioned a vague confusion symbol, Rhys just smirked. They both signalled readiness. Rhys whispered, "3...2...1...NOW!" He shouted, as he leapt off. The Dragon woke, and was stabbed twice in the chest by Infinete. It jerked it's head up, as it roared in pain. Rhys held his sword downwards, as he fell. It embedded itself in the Dragon's neck, spraying claret all over the room. The Dragon gurgled one last time, and fell down, dead. Rhys walked over, wiped his sword clean, and sheathed it. Infinete walked over, looking pleased and impressed. "Nicely done Rhys! What it lacked in subtlety, it made up for in spectacle!" Rhys bowed, and started laughing. "Come on, let's go find the rest!"
Logan and the others burst into the room just then. They were all out of breath, as they'd ran the entire way. Giga Bert was first to recover his breath, "Damn! Too late!" PETE groaned, "We missed out on the fun..." Infinete and Rhys started laughing again. Logan looked up at the Dragon, "Jesus christ!!! What the hell did you do to it!?!? Nuke it!?!" Infinete stepped in, "No. Rhys climbed the wall, jumped down, and stabbed down it's throat. You should've seen it. It was actually rather attractive...like a crimson fountain, HAHAHAH!!!" Logan tried not to show his face, as a brief look of horror appeared. Sephiroth walked over and had a closer look. "Niiiice. Clean down the centre. Aa...anyway, we did what we were meant to, so let's go back to Pioneer 2 and wait." Logan nodded. "Alright, everyone, let's head back!"
Chapter 9: Search Team: Part 2 -Overworld tune-PS2-
"WHAT THE HELL IS THAT???" Dale Bert shouted. "I don't know...everyone, be careful!" Snow commanded. It was a giant sea serpent, even taller than a tree. They drew their weapons. "No, wait!" Nei shouted at them. They paused. Nei spoke, "This is the guardian of this island. It will ask a riddle, like a Sphinx. If we are successful, we can proceed. If we fail....." The serpent boomed in a slithering voice. "I am Scylla...guardian of this island. None shall pass, unless they answer my question correctly!" "What is the question?" Terra shouted up. "What is my brother's name?" Dale Bert and Snow looked worried. Nei also looked like she had a problem with the answer. Terra had sat there, quietly for a moment, then, "Hey! I know it!...I think." She called up, "Scylla...your brother's name is...Charbadyss...right?" The serpent roared, and sank into the sea. "I guess I was right." Snow walked up to her, "How did you know that?!" Terra smiled, and stayed silent. Nei and Snow exchanged glances of wonder, while Dale Bert muttered something under his breath, "...Smartar..." "DALE!" Snow shouted. "What?" He asked, weakly. Nei spoke up, "Everyone! We are approaching the shore of my secret island. I have decided...I shall name it...Laya isle!" "...why that?" Snow asked. "...I don't know. It just came to me..." Nei said, shrugging, and then they saw it properly for the first time. It was a small island, with a storm above it, and there were few trees. Only mountains, monoliths and caves. "Welcome to Laya Isle!" Nei shouted out...
Jamie picked himself up off of the sand, muttering. "Bloody sea snake...tossed me just because I didn't know it's stupid brother's name...Now where am I?" He looked around. "Hahahah! Stupid snake! It sent me onto the island! Well, them lot aren't here, so I may as well start searching without them." Jamie walked up to the mainland. As he walked along, he paused. A glint of light had caught his eye. He drew his sword slowly, " Yeeagh!!!" He leapt at the bush, hacking it to pieces. When he finally calmed down, he saw it to be nothing more than a hidden spring. "Oh. Hmm...I AM a little thirsty..." Jamie bent over, and looked closer. "Seems safe enough..." He was about to take a sip when he saw it up ahead. A Bartle face-down on the water. "Waah! What the hell!?! ...Is the water...poisoned?" He screamed, as he leapt up to his feet. "Stuff that! What now?" He looked west. An ancient, incredibly tall tree loomed above all. "If I climb, I could see further...yeah...that's it!" He ran up to the tree and started...
Nei leapt onto the shore, and strode up the beach. Dale Bert smirked, as he did a forward-flip over the railing, and landed on his feet. Snow climbed down, as Terra lifted an eyebrow. "Very nice Dale Bert...but not good enough..." she thought to herself, as she took a run up. Terra called out, "Call that a jump!?! Watch...this!" She ran up, and leapt upwards...
Jamie was half-way up the tree, when he just HAD to look down. "Uhh...this is much taller than I thought...if I fell..." He paused. He didn't WANT to know what would happen if he fell. As he tried to calm down, he heard a scream, and roars of laughter. He looked toward the shore...
As Terra had leapt over the railings of the ship, her foot had just caught them. She tumbled over in mid-air, screaming, and landed head-first on the soft sand. Everyone was in hysterics, even Snow laughed a little at her. They pulled Terra out of the sand, and heard a scream from the mainland...
"AAAAAAHHHH SHIIIIIT!!! I SHOULDN'T HAVE LAUGHED SO MUUUUCH!!!" Jamie screamed, as he plunged toward the ground...
