Chapter 6: A Plan For The Ages
"Great work Grave! Your reputation is not unfounded." RobDeLaMorte said, after Grave reported back. "Hey...everyone...I just thought..." V began. "Makes a change..." Logan mumbled. "Shut up! I'm serious. Isn't this JUST LIKE THE 'NEI' AFFAIR?!" DarkMagician shot up from his seat. "You're right! Interesting observation...anyway, on with the plan... One of us shall go in alone and confront her, the rest shall guard the exits to her room. Now, who sees her?" DarkMagician asked. Grave responded first, "We should draw straws, myself and RobDeLaMorte know her power first-hand..." "Agreed. Let's do it." They drew straws, and took up positions, as the chosen one preperared to enter the room...
"Wait, V! This is folly! You are the LEAST resistant to Zonde!" DarkMagician called out quickly. V walked back. "Oh yeah..." DarkMagician glared at Grave and RobDeLaMorte for letting V nearly enter alone. "We should send whoever is the most resistant to magic..." DarkMagician began. The others looked at him. "Oh bugger...not again..." As he marched into the room...
Tiffany sat at a desk alone, filing some Hunter Guild reports and mission requests. DarkMagician walked in slowly, noiselessly. She carried on looking down at her filing. DarkMagician walked up to the desk, and stood in front of her grinning. "What do you want?" She said without looking up. "I do not know...what do YOU want, Tiffany?" DarkMagician retorted playfully. She frowned, and continued working. "You remember earlier when you fried two brawling hunters with Gizonde?" This stopped her. "Yees....." DarkMagician laughed a little, "Well next time, please make sure NOT to shock the one that revived me..." She flinched, and slowly looked up. DarkMagician carried on smiling, as her mouth formed an 'O' and she cast Zonde at him...
The others were playing a game of slaps, when they saw a huge flash of electricity come through the wall, as well as DarkMagician. They all looked on aghast, as he ran in shouting to them, "I have it all under control...gnnk..."
DarkMagician walked back in, "You are powerful indeed, Tiffany...But that is nothing to he that is the Ultimate Mage!" DarkMagician boomed, as she attempted to cast a megid at him, "Ooh! That's not nice!" He said calmly, as he dodged it. It flew through the hole in the wall, and a scream was heard, followed by Grave and V's laughter. "Loogaan..." DarkMagician laughed, as he dashed over and held Tiffany securely. "Let...Me...GO!" She screamed in rage, as DarkMagician signalled to his friends. They closed in on her, and after reviving Logan, tied her up none too gently...
Chapter 7: A New Enemy?
"Now...Tiffany...perhaps you will be more willing to...co-operate with us now?" DarkMagician asked, as he sat close to her, the smile faded. She glared at him, straining to cast a spell, but unable to. "Now, please explain why I must be kept from rebirth. I promise you freedom, protection and happiness if you tell me." She thought for a moment, and tried to scream for help instead. "Uh-uh...soundproof walls..." DarkMagician remarked casually. "And do not attempt to overpower me, as the others wait outside of all the exits to the room." She seemed to calm visibly after that statement. DarkMagician sat up straight. "Now...will you tell me why you attempted to kill me forever?" Tiffany nodded, as DarkMagician removed the duc-tape and signalled to his friends to come in. "A week ago, a man approached me, and forced me to have RobDeLaMorte assassinated, as he had heard that you were nearing rebirth... I do not know why or who he was, he wore a robot suit, but I knew he was human..." RobDeLaMorte butted in suddenly, "But why save me at the Ruins?" Tiffany sighed, "I had not meant to. I missed, I aimed for you, and hit IT instead..." RobDeLaMorte fell silent. "Well, that is all we needed to know..." DarkMagician said, as he cut the bonds. "You may go free now." Tiffany looked uncertain, as though she were fighting an inner battle. "Uh...There is something you should know DarkMagician...I sent TWO MERCENARIES after you all... Grave was one, but the other one I have not seen yet... His name is Iori, he has Bright red hair and red eyes. He holds fearsome powers apparently, but I don't know..." "Alright. Thank you for your help!" DarkMagician smiled, as he ushered her out the door. She stood there a moment, unsure. "What is the matter?" Grave asked. "...I should help you myself...It is my fault for accepting his request. I willn't take no for an answer!" DarkMagician laughed, but RobDeLaMorte and Grave were clearly not amused. "No go..." They said simultaneously. Tiffany looked at them, her large green eyes welling up, "Please?" She said pitifully. That got them. She laughed afterwards, "After all, who can turn someone as cute as me down!?" V opened his mouth, "Do not say anything V...Just don't..." Logan said back without looking.....
As they walked out, DarkMagician realised how similiar this situation was to that of so many years ago. V suddenly nudged DarkMagician out of his daydream, "Hey Dark..." DarkMagician glared at him, "I told you NOT to ever call me that! Do not think I forgot just because I died..." V tried not to sound so flabbergasted, "Yeah...well...anyway, I just thought; There are only TWO enemies left that we know of, yes? This will be easy! Much easier than Cyber Dragons." DarkMagician tried not to appear so concerned, "Perhaps...but that Iori person...I have a bad feeling about him...What powers does he have!?" Logan fell back to them after listening in, "Do not be so worried DarkMagician. We killed the Cyber Dragons, and now YOU'RE BACK, young again. We CANNOT fail!" The three of them laughed out as they sat down in DarkMagician's room, and dealt out some cards, waiting...
Meanwhile, RobDeLaMorte and Grave had gone back to the bar again, and were getting plastered. Tiffany was also there, trying a few shots. It was evident that while her magical prowess in Zonde was unmatched, her drink retention had a lot to be desired. She had three shots, giggled, and passed out quietly on the bar. A moment later, the door swang open. Grave and RobDeLaMorte didn't turn back. A strong voice boomed out, "Has anyone seen the Undead One around here? I have orders to slay him!" RobDeLaMorte and Grave sighed, as they recluctantly got up, and walked over to the new enemy. He looked like any old hunter, though he had red hair and bright red eyes. Grave said out loud to RobDeLaMorte, "Don't you just HATE Deja-Vu?" RobDeLaMorte nodded, as Iori looked on curiously. "I remember...There was too much talking back then...Let's skip straight to the good bit!" RobDeLaMorte snarled, as they both launched themselves at Iori, going through the window. Tiffany woke up after hearing the smash, and sung to no-one in particular, "Show mee the way to go ho-ome..." Before collapsing again...
Grave and RobDeLaMorte were easily gaining the upper hand, two on one and they had surprised him. Though Iori fought valiantly, he sensed an imminent defeat approaching. He teleported a few metres away from them. "What?" Grave uttered confused. Iori stood there silently, as he raised his arms above his head. Purple flames danced about his person, as RobDeLaMorte and Grave looked on. To their horror, Iori split in half, morphed into a truly demented looking angel, and grew demon-wings. Meanwhile, Logan had just gone to fetch drinks for the card-playing, and stumbled upon the transformation. He dropped the drinks in shock, and mumbled to himself, "What...the...fuck....is...that? This cannot be good....." The other two jogged over to him, and drew their weapons as the thing completed it's transformation. "Is this the power Tiffany spoke of!?" Grave shouted. RobDeLaMorte grimly nodded. The creature roared with extraordinary ferocity, and screamed in a voice unlike anything in even Logan's nightmares, "ZERO-IS-HERE!"
