Chapter 3: The Evil Taint
Before DarkMagician fully readied himself, Cloud carved down his chest. "Yeeaarrrgh! Dammit Cloud! No mercy for you!" DarkMagician shouted out enraged. Kashima leapt at Cloud, and carved across his face with his claw, leaving a bloody trail. "AAARR!!! I'LL KILL ALL OF YOU!!!" Cloud screamed, his voice shaking with anger. "Gifoie!" Mirinee called, as she cast it. Cloud di not even try to dodge, rather, he ran into it, trying to slash Kashima. Kashima easily evaded the entire attack, and counter-attacked. "Power Claw!" Kashima called, as his claw changed to a golden colour. He carved down Cloud's chest, drawing blood, yet Cloud tried to fight on. DarkMagician's eyes narrowed, "Dark Magic Tornado!" he shouted, as dark magic whirled around Cloud, trapping him. Cloud screamed in disbelief, then agony, as the magic formed over his head, and a beam of Pure Darkness covered his entire body. After it vanished, only some traces of blood and his sword left any references to what had happened to Cloud.....
DarkMagician averted his eyes, and sighed once more. "That poor idiot... Anyway, I trust you now Kashima. You have proven yourself to us, let us go onwards then!" As they walked south, Mirinee suddenly called out, "Wait!" Kashima and DarkMagician stopped. "DarkMagician...I must ask you...I heard that this was all YOUR FAULT...Is this true?" DarkMagician's eyes watered, "Yes...it is true...Allow me to explain..." He then proceeded to speak of his last adventure, that last wish, and how this is all connected. At the end, Kashima asked, "So, if you had not wished for adventure, this would not have happened?" DarkMagician stayed silent. Mirinee stood up, and slapped him hard, knocking him over. "MIRINEE!" Kashima shouted aghast. DarkMagician got up slowly, and saw the pain in her eyes too. "No...She is right...I deserved it...had I not wished for adventure, her friend Relmitos would not have died by my hand..." They all fell silent. "....DarkMagician?" Kashima asked quietly. "Yes?" "What happened to your friends, V and RobDeLaMorte?" DarkMagician thought for a while. "You know...I don't know. We all went seperate ways after that final adventure. V is on Gal De Val already, our destination, and RobDeLaMorte..well..." "Well?" "...He is the sort that CRAVES action! He is probably in the thick of it, as we speak..." They fell silent again. "Let us make camp here, hidden in this hollow tree." Kashima said. "Yes, I am tired too...Let's rest." DarkMagician replied, as Kashima walked off to the tree, and got inside his tent. Mirinee still sat there, silent, thinking. "Mirinee?" DarkMagician asked quietly. No response. "Listen...I truly AM sorry for Relmitos... Had I the chance to go back and top myself, I would... And I am sorry for hurting you earlier... But please can you forgive me? I need your help, if we are to escape this planet! You are far stronger than you admit. Please think about it..." He walked off, into the tree. Mirinee smiled slightly, and looked up to the full moon...
The following morning, DarkMagician awoke first. He looked around, Kashima and Mirinee were not there. "?" He walked outside. Mirinee had fallen asleep where she sat last night, looking at the moon. DarkMagician looked around. Kashima was a distance away, near the river. "Probably getting resources for the journey..." DarkMagician mused. He walked over to Mirinee. "Mirinee...? Mirinee! Wake up! Time to g-AAAAHHHH!!!" Mirinee had woken, and reacted by instinct by firing a Magic Ball at DarkMagician, catching him completely off-guard. Kashima sprinted back after hearing the scream, "What's going on!?? Are we under attack again!?" DarkMagician staggered, clutching his chest, as Mirinee woke up fully. "What? Oh no! Sorry DarkMagician! I thought you were an enemy..." DarkMagician stood up, and cast Barta at her, which she only just dodged. "!!!" "Perhaps I AM an enemy!" DarkMagician shouted angrily. Kashima and Mirinee looked at him horrified. "....Sorry... I... I think it started affecting me too... We must escape this tainted planet!" DarkMagician stated, looking at the floor. "...Alright. Let's carry on." Kashima said quietly.
Chapter 4: The Battlefield
As they walked along, they noted that there were many dead hunters lying on the floor. Mirinee recognised one, and was about to cast Reverser as DarkMagician grabbed her hand. "Look at the eyes, Mirinee..." She looked. They were crazed, enraged. They carried on walking. Eventually, as they climbed up a big hill, an incredible sight beheld them.....
In the field below, there was a Battle Royal. Hundreds, if not thousands, of hunters were all fighting to the death, and more kept pouring in through telepipes at each end. "My...god..." Mirinee whispered. Magic and blood flew with wild abandon. The floor was littered with the bodies of the fallen. Death screams could be heard even from here. Kashima stayed silent, but DarkMagician's blood boiled. "Those IDIOTS! Do they not realise they will all kill each other!? I see friends turning on each other, and new enemies being made. Intolerable! I cannot stand it!" DarkMagician's body started to cover in darkness. "DarkMagician?!" Kashima and Mirinee asked simultaneously. DarkMagician levitated into the air, crackling with Dark Magics. "....rrrrRRRRRAAAAHHHH!!!" DarkMagician screamed, as energy started to crackle and cover him. "MEGIIIDBREEATH!!!" DarkMagician took a deep breath, and blasted a torrent of Megid directly onto the battlefield. Hundreds fell, dead. The rest carried on fighting, some retaliating with magic of their own towards DarkMagician's party. DarkMagician, after casting this ultimate spell, levitated back down to the floor, and collapsed unconscious. Kashima examined him. "He needs rest." Mirinee flipped, "Are you kidding?! They all know we are here! If we rest here, they wil finish us off!" Kashima thought for a moment, looking around. "There may yet be a way out! See that tunnel there?" Mirinee turned around. A doorway, etched in black stone stood open at the face of a nearby cave. "The Ruins side entrance? Is it safe though?" "I don't know..." Kashima responded, as they both walked slowly there, supporting DarkMagician...
They entered the Ruins. As they walked along, they began to feel something was wrong. The bodies of the animals of Ragol, and many other dead hunters littered the floors. They walked on, uneasily. Suddenly, Kashima motioned to stop. "Mirinee, look at these bodies. They are all carved up the exact same way! One thing has killed all of these... But what!?" Just then, DarkMagician roused himself. "Wh-where am I...?" He asked weakly. "He's awake!" Mirinee exclaimed. Kashima rolled his eyes, "DarkMagician, listen to me. We could not pass through that battlefield, so we took a detour into the Ruins...What!?" DarkMagician had leapt up, moaning, "Nooo! Not here! Not now! You fools! This is the WORST thing you could have done!" Terror covered his face. "Why?! What is so bad that it could break YOU out into a sweat!?" Mirinee asked fearfully. "R-remember I told you both of my friends..." "Yes..." "And how one of them, RobDeLaMorte, would likely be fighting for fun..." "Yes..." ".....Ruins is where he resides." Kashima took a step back. "And these bodies...look how they are carved...do you think...?" DarkMagician wailed, "Yes! RobDeLaMorte is here somewhere!"
Before DarkMagician fully readied himself, Cloud carved down his chest. "Yeeaarrrgh! Dammit Cloud! No mercy for you!" DarkMagician shouted out enraged.
