Yes, also Gamecube peripherals, including the modems, and ASCII/SAMMY controllers, are multi-regional, however, if you use a memory card that has EU/US game saves, and you intend to make JP game saves, use a seperate memory card, as some JP games require you to format your memory card.
This is the same for all consoles, also, all Game Boy devices and games are multi-regional.
Also, modems are still available in the UK, it all depends on what the shops decide to order in.
The bonus if, if you know a friend in the States or somewhere, as long as the item in question weighs under 2kg, they can send it to you classied as a gift, and you won't have to pay import/export charges that most import companies charge you, (as they are a business, they have to resgister these for legal reasons), so if you need to import anything, ask an international friend, (this is probably the only good reason about my fiancee being in the US at the moment).
