Well now you put it like that, I will agree to disagree. I think one of the problems DE is that IL doesn't stand for just one thing...

Some want it to be a shrine to the fact Robin was banned from Ragol, this is not the reason I created the site.

Some want it to be a website to have a go at all the mods on RF (Ragol forums). Again, not why I made the site.

However:

These things are permitted there because THAT is what the site stands for. Talk, and you shall not be banned. That is why it is there, should anything funny happen here, people can go to this new site for refuge. I am not saying anything funny is going on, but caution never killed the cat. The site for me stands for one saying, that my father taught me not so long ago.

I may disagree with every word you say, but I will defend, with my life, your right to say it.

It's not a slag pit, filled with details on how corrupt all the mods here are. The mods here generally do a good job but,
Here you cannot challenge them. If a mods descision cannot be challenged then truly how can it be worth the virtual paper it is printed on? Every idea, fundamentally, should be challengable, even if it is Sols idea. That is what I feel IL stands for, and I hope you will forgive me any damage I may have caused.

Im not angry or anything, just putting down the guideline, it should be common sense not to disrespect someone with responsibility like the staff... mind you that speaking your opinions is not disrespectful as long as you keep it public that is an opinion, not personal.

That's all very well and good, in fact, the statement that you would defend someone else's freedom of speech with your life is pretty big, but anyway.. please allow me to clear one thing up:

That's all very well and good, in fact, the statement that you would defend someone else's freedom of speech with your life is pretty big, but anyway.. please allow me to clear one thing up:

people are people at the end of the day behind every mod every legendary champion every icon theres a person who can fall prey to emotion like any one of us. Today it can be the lowliest of poster tommorow it could be the mightiest of admins like sol calling us all little trouble making bastards. The point is judging real anger and threat from hurt and defense mechanisms in reading some of rebels words im rethinking my thoughts on someone here perhaps they arent a bad person just all TOO human

Hehe, unfortunately I'm 22. It's not really old I know but once you leave your teens and education the transition is like going from playing normal to ULT difficulty

And I'm not that wise, but thanks for saying so! , just it's easier for me to be impartial because I'm relatively an outsider.

The typed word is vastly open to interpretation in terms of emotion and intent; things we take for granted with voice communication (anything from the tone to accent that people use), so to fill in that lack of understanding - and because in a community situation we don't just look upon it all as truely faceless words, we fill in the blanks by assuming certain readings determined by our opinions or guessed agendas, if you will, of individuals. Put simply we like to construct people in our heads as we get to know them through this as adopting certain character and personality traits that we use as a basis for our relation with them because obviously we usually have no other means to get them from. Sometimes our imagined reading can be spot-on or close since a lot of the jigsaw pieces are there for us to see simply because some people can express themselves and their personality well but cautiously in this medium. Often though we can totally misread things, and usually through no real fault of our own, and get the wrong end of the stick because of how we've grown to see someone's attitude towards us. Usually this can spiral from someone simply correcting someone once or twice into that corrected person, over a period of time, thinking the other has a serious vendetta against them!

So I guess what I'm trying to say (longwindedly!) is the more involved you are in a forum the harder it can get to stay level-headed about things despite your true nature.

This forum is blessed in that it has a healthy core of individuals prepared to talk things over no matter what is said. Disagreements and misunderstandings will happen but just like in real life (except x a thousand times worse!) it's important to remember people don't always mean what they say... or indeed how you may read it!

This could easily be put into context by looking at DM and Decs........ Apparently Decs hates/hated DM.......but DM filled in the blank spots, and came up with Decs hating him....which is utter bs, but that is how DM feels.

Or you could also look at my severly wrong guestimations of Anjiru's situation with her boyfriend.....I filled in the blank spots with things I know of people in my own life. Your point is extremely well spoken RD.

Site maintenance is part of it, but just like you, we have lives as well. Sol, for instance, has been lacking activeness because of his studies. :happy: I try to be there for any issues that may arise whenever I can on the forums and site.

oh I know, lol, I kind of forgot what I really wanted to say and accidently left out the part about knowing you guys have lives just like us >_<.
