All it boils down to is taste i love Hip hop with a passion have done since i was 9 (ahhh the good o'l Fresh prince days) but Rock fans are just people that want to be in the now(if you know what i mean)in a couple of years time you will be into somthing new and nu rock will be a little dot on the horizen.where as im a MASSIVE 2Pac fan and i will never got bored of his music, hes a legend in my eyes .............but its just what i think.
Oh and as for linkin park its the biggest pile of bullsh*t ive ever heard,they couldnt even think of a new album so they just threw there beats over Jay z's best rhymes.

Now, just to be fair, Killing and Drugs also appears in rock, like in the following examples...

But, rock takes skill to play guitars and drums. Any old fool can talk rather fast over a bassline cant they? The skill in that is making the words mean something, which is why I consider eminem to be God of Rap. Dont listen to Eminem much, but he's the best.

I do realize that yes, drugs, killing and such does appear in Rock. But not as much so as rap. Just for the record though.....I do listen to punk music, ICP, Zug Izland, I find are some good bands. Like zero said though, it all comes down to your taste in music.
Shadamoo, Lost Prophets is more of a heavy metal kind of band, killing is usually a common theme with heavy metal.
Rap = usually good bass
Rock = AMAZING guitar playing/drums/bass
Listening to some rock songs actually made me want to learn how to play some of those songs on guitar. Mind you, I've only been playing since the start of september, but I'm actually pretty good.

hmmmm.......Tomnash, how many rappers do you think can actually play guitar. Playing guitar as well as some of the rock bands today would take someone decades of learning to accomplish. Learning to rhyme over a beat would take a child 5 minutes to learn.

Not all rock bands scream out their lyrics. Your only talking about a small percentage of rock bands that actually do scream out every single word in their lyrics, which just happens to be about 1% of the total rock bands that do that. Some rappers are actually very difficult to understand what their are saying and what the message of the song is.
