Sorry to changed the subject ever so slightly but I've noticed quite a lot of discussion on FFXI recently on the forum and just wanted to make a post about the game with a little info and a suggestion.

Firstly, for those that didn't know FFXI is down for a UK release in the middle of September which is roughly the same time as the Chains of Promathia expansion is released in the US and Japan. Not sure how many of you guys live in the UK but for those of us that do its about blummin' time!!!

Seeing as a lot of you are talking about joining the game it would seem sensible to suggest that we meet up in game, as finding a good bunch of people to play with is a very important part of the game and having a Ragol.co.uk Linkshell would be very cool indeed. However, as those that do play the game know, that isn't as simple as it sounds. So I'm suggesting that people that do play the game post the server they play on and then we can identify the most popular server and when the time comes buy the worldpass needed for the new players to join that server. I've no objections to starting a new character on a new server if that's whats needed but currently I play on Phoenix I've got a level 12 Red Mage but have recently decided upon a different career path and have started retraining as a White Mage.

So over to you guys, what do you think of the idea?

Note : I am not encouraging people to stop playing PSO. I play both PSO games and FFXI, and although it slows progress down in all the games (as well as that annoying real life thing getting in the way) I find that I'm still able to enjoy all three games.

I play on Ragnarok, I have a 27 Warrior and 15 White Mage (same character, just raising different jobs). As soon as I get to 30 on Warrior, I'm gonna go get Paladin and start leveling that. That would be a prime oppurtunity for new people to come seeing as I'll be level 1 all over again. Ragnarok is by far the most populated server. There are trade-offs to this. The Pros are: There are always people to play with, getting into a Linkshell with a lot of people is easy and makes the game more enjoyable, you can always get help. Now the Cons: Many people on Ragnarok are morons, they're like the extreme noobs in PSO but not as bad, because there are so many people, the prices for items at the Auction House go down and the whole economy lowers, and people are always camping monsters (some people are very rude and take the monster you've been looking for even though it's obvious you were looking for it). Despite that though, I think we should meet up at Ragnarok (seeing as I already have a high level character established there, I could get powerlevels for us and I can be helpful to a Ragol Linkshell.

Well i might make my main character on ragnarok even though im not really into hugely populated servers but do you mean like so populated everywhere you go in that world you can see poeple well either way ill probaly still go on ragnarok.

Ragnarok it is then. Let me know when we start to assemble a group and I'll create a new character. Lion, I guess, you're going to have to be in charge of getting worldpasses?

uhhhh no, they cost at least 2000 gil apiece, I only have 20k and I still need new armor and stuff...people give away free world passes on the internet often, you should look them up. I may be able to get a couple and then the people can pay me back (gil is hard to come by in that game) when they get the money.

I think next week i might have the game but it still might not be till november2 when i get it i dunno but he doesnt need to get a world pass for me cause im on ragnarok when i get the game.

umm you need a world pass to get into any server trevman otherwise they just randomly select a server to put you in.

Ragnarok is one of the many FFXI servers (think there is about 20?).

Fair point, Lionheart, buying everyone who wanted to play a worldpass would prove very costly to your character (especially on a crowded server). Everyone should keep an eye out for free ones being offered.
