You'll have to pay to download games from the virtual console, but getting online, viewing the online content and playing games online is free using Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection

(Think the majority of online games will start to be released spring next year?)

Oooh, that doesn't sound too bad. I'm already using Nintendo Wi-Fi connection with my DS, is there anyway I can link the account to show off my terrible Metroid Prime stats? Or isn't that much info out yet?

The Wii uses exactly the same system as Nintendo DS uses in terms of accounts... there are none, all the games use the friend code system. Every game you play online, you'll need your friends friend code to play with them online. Pretty lame really in comparison to Xbox Live, but meh, it's free! Good ol' Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection
Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection also uses the same methods of getting online as Nintendo DS. If you can get online with your DS, your Wii shouldn't have any problems!

God that sounds tempting. I got offered one at work today as well, they offered to hold it for me because it's coming out at midnight tonight at work. I declined. =[

I'll be bad-mouthing that stupid remote into the ground... that site helps my cause... XD All it takes is someone with a below average IQ, or a short-temper... and stuff WILL get broken. XD
...Although technically speaking... my foster sis did once put a dent in my wall from hurling an N64 controller at the wall in a rage... she was losing in the mini-game "Grab Bag" on the original Mario Party... that poor rumble pak didn't see that wall coming... the rumble pak still worked afterward... the controller didn't... which is kinda weird because it was the rumble pak that collided with the wall at high velocity and not the controller. XD
Either way... the Revo's remote is much more likely to cause unintentional damage to things, other than the remote.
