You know why they have those handles on the back of the Mac, right? So it can be used as a BOAT ANCHOR!!! (quote from great video clip called "Why Macs Suck" which you should all watch.) I hate macs and use them as little as possible. I've never owned one and never plan to. If I were to get one as a gift I would sell it on EBAY and get myself a PC instead.

macs are great unless you want to play games on them because there arn't vrey many games for them. there much better graphic and proccesor wize. but it all comes down to what you wan't to do with your computer

I've never really used a mac before unless it was in school when I had free time in kindergarden to play an educational game, or I used them as programs on how to type at school with macs from 1996 that have broadband as fast as my modem.

Dells are a different story. I have a Dell, and their computers defenatly get the job done. My school has about 30 Dell Latitudes and they're a dream laptop. It had all the programs I'd need for my uses. But it's about $2,000

Microsoft send out Xbox 2 developer's kits that feature Apple G5 technology.
Had someone predicted that Microsoft would use Apple G5 hardware in the Xbox 2 dev kit, we'd have locked them up and thrown away the key.

Well, we'd better go and let Andy out of the basement because that's exactly what's happened. The system that programmers are using to start planning for the next Xbox is essentially a high-spec Mac running a special Windows operating system. The dual Power Mac G5 processors are currently accompanied by a Radeon 9800 Pro graphics card, although this will be replaced by the more powerful R420 closer to the launch date.

With the current specs still up in the air at MSHQ (and the fact that some intended components don't even exist yet), this is just something to let dev teams get their feet wet. So don't go trying to build yourself one out of parts from an Xbox, a PC and a iMac.

This is just the latest item to add to the momentum of the Xbox 2 rumour mill. There's the talk that the next controller will be wireless (we like that one), that there'll not be a hard drive (we hate that one) and that Microsoft will beat its competitors to the shop shelves by launching in Autumn 2005 (that would be very cool).

Macs have a much better capability to do maths. That's why most designers and musicians use macs, because lots of the programs they use (Photoshop for example) needs lots of equations and maths to work.

Games require an awful lot of maths. 3D engine, physics engine, sound. That's why they are using macs. And with dual processors the latest graphics card, the huge hard drives and up to 1Gb RAM (maybe 2Gb), that is a powerhouse to program on. Shame I don't have 1
