I know that Nintendo wont be giving away much, very little really, on Mario 128 due to Ninty not wanting their ideas for it stolen by rival developers. And if you need some Tv Games coverage theres always Gamer.TV on Bravo(sky chnl 124), that is supposedly having some E3 coverage this month.

UbiSoft Announce 'Racing in Notorius: Die to Drive'

Image Link: Click Here

Cubed-3.co.uk Wrote:Ubisoft announced earlier today at the E3 conference today a unique title known as Notorious: Die to Drive that takes the basic fundamentals of racing and combines it with a unique urban battle conception. The combination of the city warfare, which can be seen on the streets of both real life and in the media, with generic car racing allows players with a more wild and somewhat dangerous streak to take to the road. Racers take to the steets where eliminating opponents doesn’t just mean a title, it means building a notorious stash of the good old greens – cash – with action on screen matched by various rap artists (in a similar style to True Crime: Streets of LA).

"Ubisoft has a long history of making great racing games and we wanted to capitalize on that by bringing something unique to the genre, which accounts for nearly 20% of the U.S. console market. The killer soundtrack and mature theme gives Notorious: Die to Drive the kind of edge that arcade fans are looking for."
Tony Kee, Vice President of Marketing for Ubisoft Inc

The title promises to include car based level racing where power and respect play key roles in character and player development. To found this, a reward system employed allows players to essentially move up rants where both wealth and power fuel expansion in the danger filled title. Included are 30 vehicles that span from the generic modern cars to classic vintage roadsters, 20 weapons that span pistols, machine guns and shotguns. Interestingly enough there are over 45 stages of pure action that are available in seven unique game modes – superb!

The title is set to ship in Early 2005

Theres much more then all this though, i cant cope wth it all. Tommorow ill have more time to post it all, including Advance Wars, Starfox 2: Armada, Mario Tennis, and more from Day 2!
More news coming soon....

[EDIT] (22-05-04) Double Post Merging (After E3)

E3 News (2 & 3)

More E3 news to go drool about! Although i've become lazy, i've still got the basics on all the best games! Read on....

Viewtiful Joe 2

This time round the game allows you to play as either Joe or Silvia, both of whom have their own styles and ways in the game. The game is just about the same as the original in terms of gameplay, it is superbly fast-paced and fluid and the action never stops! Joe has all the moves from the first game in the demo, whereas the all new Silvia (the damsel in distress you have to rescue in the first game) comes with all new kicks and punches…sort of. This girl doesn’t punch, she doesn’t slap, but she shoots from a gun, she also structures VFX moves differently to Joe.

All the old faces are here to be kicked into submission, along with a fairly large catalogue of new and even more strange/camp enemies. This time round the game asks you to think a bit more, you have to employ a lot less button-bashing to get any success this time around, meaning you have to come up with strategies for each individual foe. Some have guns, some have specific weak spots, some have shields and others can only be damaged by some of your most vietiful moves.

Paper Mario 2

This is basically a full in sequel to the N64 original with a few enhancements and additions to make it something a bit different and special. Mario is of course the star, who is joined by a plethora of goodies and baddies in various different scenarios. You come across various battles, with a very decent system to handle all your moves and grooves.

There are not masses of new additions, but the ones that are here are very well implemented. Your partner his there very own health meter, the attack and defence system has had a massive overhaul and a crowd now watches your battles. Various moves seem to please the assembled masses very much, you can perform some earth-shaking moves and the controls are very fluid and easy to use.

There were three areas in the E3 demo. One is Boggly Woods, the other Crystal Fields and the final one is a level featuring lots of Koopa Troopas and Koopa Paratroopas. The first level from the above is in a woodland setting, where we were paired with a slug…fun. His special move is the Gale Force, by hitting A enemies go flying out of the ‘arena’ so to speak. Enemies consist of various beats, from Piranha Plants to insects and of course the usual puzzle based elements to conquer. Sadly, Nintendo were rushing us to get off the unit so we couldn’t spend too much time exploring. Next up is the Crystal Field, where you are accompanied by Goombella, where you are up against Goombas and suchlike, a bit repetitive, but fun none the less.

Finally, the last level on show as in a castle setting, where you are up against Koopa and Paratroopas. We really enjoyed this level, as Mario could use his ability to fold into a paper aeroplane, and glide across the level (with you controlling the glider with the control stick) and get to new areas. It is great fun and a nice little touch in what was a very repetitive little demo.

Continued from last post

Advance Wars: Under Fire

The Advance Wars brand has transcended its GBA origins and has become a real-time, 3D strategy game on GameCube with Advance Wars: Under Fire. Gone are the turn-based tactics and in comes the ability to directly control squads of soliders on the battlefield.
While you're gallivanting off fighting your own battle, the rest of your army has the intelligence to take care of itself, guarding territory and resisting attacks. You can switch between squads to get the best piece of the action. Take control of tanks and helicopters, and make individual soliders more powerful by getting them through each mission alive.

In development at Kuju Entertainment, Advance Wars: Under Fire is due out next year.

TimeSplitters 2: Future Perfect

Player's past, present, and future self in a battle that stretches throughout time where humanity is on the brink of destruction from the malevolent TimeSplitters. Cortez—the tough-as-nails hero from previous installments—finds himself in a frantic race against time in a desperate bid to trace the origin of the TimeSplitters and save mankind.

This third installment of the best-selling franchise will feature hundreds of hours of gameplay and an improved Story mode that ties all the missions together, immersing gamers in an epic adventure between the years of 1914 and 2401.

The Lord of the Rings: The Third Age

Another film tie-in here but rest assured that doesn’t mean you should write it off as a poor money making attempt at a game just yet, oh no. Like previous outings it is based on Peter Jackson's critically acclaimed film adaptations of J.R.R. Tolkien's classic The Lord of the Rings trilogy. The Third Age videogame allows players to adventure through Middle-earth, building a party of heroes as they do so. You will be fighting on the side of the fellowship but later on in the game there will be opportunities to turn that around and be under the control of Sauron himself as you fight all that is good, rather than evil. All the classic characters and locations from the books/films are here such as the demonic Balrog in the Mines of Moria to name but one example.

Pikmin 2

Captain Olimar returns to marshal new colors of Pikmin in a wild, open-ended adventure -- and this time he's brought an assistant.

Alternate controlling the main characters -- Olimar and Louie -- as you give precise orders to your Pikmin to defeat enemies, grow more Pikmin and solve puzzles. You'll need to take advantage of new colors of Pikmin and new items as you plan strategies -- with more than 60 different species of enemy characters and randomly generated dungeons that span the planet, Pikmin 2 features much more game play than the first game. And this time around, time is limitless, so players can head straight for the action or spend as much time exploring as they please.

and finally the game i'm personally most excited about, ad have been ever since hearing about it since last years E3 (Possibly more exciting then Killer 7?!)...

GEIST

You may not have heard much of this title, if you've heard of it at all, but it's been in the works for a while, but it seriously sounds cool, and looks brill from everything i've seen! I love E3!

You are John Raimi, some kind of counter-terrorism expert who, in a bizarre accident, has become separated from his physical body. As John's ghost, it's up to you scare people, possess their bodies and try to find out what happened to your own skin-bag as well as what mischief the pesky Volks Corporation is up to.
As well as humans, you'll be able to possess dogs and mice to evade security and slip into small holes, and even computer systems to get a binary look at the situation. Geist will be haunting GameCubes toward the end of the year.

First things first...the second part of SEGA's big announcement?

SEGA Announce the re-incarnation of the SEGA Mega-Drive!

Thats right, you really would never have guessed it would you?

Sega are releasing a new piece of hardware which will be able to play all your favourite MegaDrive classics! The UK will initially see the Mega Drive joystick-based system with six games built-in arrive at around £29.99. Radica has signed the distribution deal for English-speaking markets and Mexico, with Sega handling the rest of the world. Its comes as part of a major push from Radica this year to help gamers re-live the 16-bit era. Radica CEO Pat says:

"We are including Sonic, Altered Beast, Golden Axe and other hit games without any changes from their original programming,"

"This is the beginning of what both companies think is possible with the array of software from what was the dominant 16-bit system in the early 1990s.”

Maybe they'll release all those classic Phantasy Stars for all us to enjoy one more time!
