Wow.. I must say, I'm finding this game incredible.
I didn't actually like it at first. It looks great, but is just so bizarre (surely the only game where you are taught the controls by a dead man in a gimp suit?), and the controls don't gel immediately. Once I did get into the controls, however, I began to love the game. It's not as free as other games, but after a while I just thought they don't need to be free. Running, shooting stylishly, running some more, doing cool stuff, finding out some more of the mental story etc. It's a unique and extremely satisfying experience.
It's hard to get over just how bizarre it seems at first though, and the game is certainly not for kids!

It sounds like a puzzler? Is it?

Not really. There have been a few puzzles so far, but they're not too hard (though still rather rewarding when finished). I am, however, playing on the easier difficulty, which apparantly gives you more clues. (Love the alter-ego of the guy who helps you when the mask is on).
I've just finished last night the first part of 'Sunset' (so I would guess I'm on the 3rd part now, or something). The game seems rather long so far, which is a good thing, and the story is getting interesting. The game continues to warrant it's 18 rating, and is not for kids!

Well, I just picked this game up yesterday for the unbelievable amount of $18.99! (Don't ask me why, but Media Play must've tagged it wrong...good for me huh?) But anyway, I'm very impressed with this game's style and as Shoe said, it has one strange and bizarre atomosphere. The graphics are awesome! It almost looks like comicbook-shading seeing that none of the characters or objects have defined outlines. The characters are also as interesting as they are troubled. I love the fact that each personality has their own unique ability and weapons. It makes the game so much more random being able to use so many different characters.
I can't explain how happy I am with this game. It really reminds me of the Fear Effect games with it's abstract storyline and graphic styles, and since the third installment of that got cancelled I can consider this my half replacement. But I'd definitely give a recommendation on this game to anyone looking for a psychological, utterly insane shooter/survival game with style. Oh and one more thing to those that have played it, is it just me or does this game kind freak you out when you hear enemies laughing and you desperately look around only to find them right as their on top of you? Personally that makes me jump every now and then. :S

I think this game is the gaming equivalent of marmite: you'll either love it or hate it.
I can understand why people think it is not a worthwhile game and it does take a little time for you to settle into it but when you do it is a joy. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for something a little different to convention who will give it a little time before judging it.
