I think that the quest Doc's Secret Plan is very good for getting tech disks and armors, and untekked weapons. You'll need to unlock Ruins in single player and then beat the first 3 quests and Secret Delivery.

Doing that quest, it's pretty easy to find tech disks that are level 27+. Also, make sure you have a cane that boosts your tech damage. That'll help alot.

Sorcerer's Cane -- 20% Gifoie, Gibarta, Gizonde, TP cost -10%
Prophets of Motav -- 20% Rafoie, Rabarta, Razonde
Psycho Wand -- 30% Rafoie, Rabarta, Razonde, TP cost halved at full HP cost.
Caduceus -- 20% Grants
Demonic Fork -- Megid penetrates

Now, if you're looking for some good rare barriers...
Hard, Viridia, Mines, Gillchich, Secret Gear 1/458 - an easy drop and one of the best barriers for Forces

Now, for frames, Viridia doesn't do to good, but you can find an Ultimate Frame pretty easily in Ruins.

What ID does your fiance have?

her hunwearl has a redria ID.

as for my fomar, he has a club of laconium, mace of adaman, and a club zumiuran. then he also has a fire scepter agni, and a few secret gears. he's actually been passing extras down to my other characters. so it's nice to know that the secret gear is something i can be decently happy with.

so now you've given me a cool gameplan. a few nights ago i took my fomar to the second mines but that took me close to an hour. i'll just have to set a few hours aside to beat the mines on ult. so that i can then get to work on getting to doc's secret plan.

my fiance is working on a pinkal fomarl to get to ultimate too so that we can get more items of different varieties. i have a hucaseal that i play as which is a yellowboze so that both of those two can kinda spice up the findings. but from what i read, yellowboze is really only gonna be good for keeping our cashflow up (like you need that in ult. hehe).

use redria as P1, thats a very good armour i.d. Also, i would have a yellowboze fonewm because of the nuking abilities- yellow gets most their good drops in mine and you can just nuke the pants of em. oh, and pinkals suck try skyly/whittil as they nboth have some very good drops.

jarl, Pinkal doesn't suck. Skyly is the HU ID, Purplenum is for RA, and Pinkal is for FO's. If you aren't a FO though, it sucks beyond all reason, whereas Slyly or Purplenum can still be usefull to a RA or HU, respectively.

Also, Yellowboze and the money thing was in DC, not EP1&2. If you have PSO+, they do have a higher chance of getting a hit% weapon though, and that is usefull.

If you need a good armor, get a Spirit Garment. It's about as strong as an Ultimate Frame (a bit stronger I believe) and it slowly replenishes TP. You get it from: Redria, VH, Gibbles 1/41, so your fiance will need to get it for you. Then you can get a Star Amplifier (there are several drops for it, most from Hildeltorrs/Hildelts, check some dropcharts to see which is easiest for you) and at level 111 you can turn the Spirit Garment into a Brightness Circle, which is very good.

Bad news my caucasian ninja friend.
I beat the mines in ultimate, then did the first three quests and went into dr. osto's research.
while it did manage to get me to level 90 by the time i finished osto's quest, i didn't pick up a single tech. disk at all. i bet it was just another quest like that. I'll mess with other quests sometime.
I just double checked and my fiance's ID is actually Bluefull. She has another character that's Redria, but she's lvl 9 haha. ahhh.
Eh. If you can beat the ult. mines with a force at level 88, i suppose you're really not doing too shabby eh?

as for Pinkal ID's, my fiance (whom I will now refer to as Lacey as it's easier) has a fomarl Pinkal, like I said. And although tech. disks aren't useful to find when all of the drops are below your current tech. status, when you get higher, the Pinkal ID is choice because we've seen for ourselves that it does manage to find a lot of disks.

Pinkal does suck, it got better in Ep4, but it's still a bad ID.

I don't mean to be rude because I respect a lot of the helpful guides that you've posted and so on, but statements like that aren't really supported.

why do you say it sucks? probably because once your magic is high, like i said up above, there's no use for the copious amounts of tech's you find. or did you mean something entirely different?

I read that the first time. I even thanked you for it although less cordially.
and in seeing that, it does look like the chances are better in caves 3 than mines 1, but since i can go into the ruins 1 now, could that be the better choice? higher end, it's just harder to kill the baddies.

The reason I recommended C3 was ebcause it's easier then M1 or M2 or Seaside etc.

Is there any mission that starts off at C3 ? Online quests I mean
