Ummm... you don't mind if I jump in do you?
If you like her that much.... go for it... my friend liked this girl for years... they finally went out for a long time... than she dumped him for some sophmore(he and she are seniors) a couple of weeks after that she broke up with the sophmore... my friend was waiting for this... and he took her back.... and now they've been going out for.... shoot it seems like forever... so my answer is.. if she means THAT much to you... then yes... you should try to get her back.

The only problem with this is that she is leaving for France in 5 days and I don't want to bother her with this right before her trip. I truly do want the best for her and I'm wondering whether or not this would actually be a good thing for her. Of course, perhaps I should stop thinking of others for once and think about myself.

Hrmmm... well I'll be like all the corny movies and say "Follow your heart..."
But I do believe that first and foremost that you should always tell someone how you feel... before it brings up some wierd moments.... this is all I can think of... but if I was in this situation... then I would talk to here as soon as possible/convenient(like if its too late to call) and let her know how I feel.. tis a lot easier saying this than doing it though... hope things go well!

That sucks man. Don't let it get ya down though; you've got to live while alive, you know. It sounds as though you already follow that advice, because it's never good to wallow in self-pity.
On a side note, it's very reassuring that sympathy is affluent in the members of the Ragol.co.uk forums; myself included.

I think that sometimes I am a bit too nice for my own good and in fact that might have been part of the problem. I think I am going to talk about it but I am not going to do anything about it until she gets back. I really don't want her to think about our little problem until she gets back (of course I probably didn't help my own chances by giving the whole situation a little bit of closure).
I appreciate the advice guys. This is why I have been on this forum for so long and don't ever plan to leave.

Me too. Any advice as to how to go about it? All I can think is to take the angle that she gave me mixed signals (told me parents wouldn't let her date) and so I didn't move very fast at all with her. In fact I really never did anything [never even held her hand (don't ask)]. I think that perhaps that might have been the reason but it's a complete guess.

Life sucks at times, but it's a lot better at others. We all have to cope with bad times. Heck, I have to put up with bad times everyday. I could post some info about myself to tell you what I mean, but if you need any of that, just go ask Netnomad, because I don't feeling like saying it more than once tonight.

Hey no problem. I'm just trying my best to help. Seeing others upset makes me a little upset so I always try to help if I can. I have some experience with helping people that are depressed and I even managed to get rid of the problem for a couple of them. We're kinda in the same boat here, so meeting someone else like that is always nice.
