dupe or not, who is going to notice the diference?
if i make a double save on my dc, i dupe the char, the items, and all the other things, and if i play with one, i cannot tell if it is the original or the dupe (the dupe is also the original if we see the things my way)

i think you are making the dupe problem into a very big problem.
what's the problem in duping? i do not care if the weapons are duped or not, if a weapon is cheated (codes) generated then it's diferent.
oh...well....dupe or not to dupe......that is the problem (or not)

Duping does not make you a non-legit player. Using the duped data to your own advantage will make you non-legit.

For example, if you dupe an item so that two of your characters can use that weapon at the same time on split screen (therefore gaining you an over-powering and unfair leveling advantage) even if the duped weapon is something like a varista which is not good and you may have something better, you are still unbalancing the game in some way and are therefore not playing legitly.

Another scenario, you have a red saber and your friend has a red handgun. you both want each others weapons but are unwilling to give up your own. So, you dupe the weapons and trade the surplus to each other. This will raise a slightly more complex and flexible version of the scenario above, again, you both will become non-legit.

Now, if you don't mind playing non-legit, then, it's fine. If you want to cheat thats up to you, so dupe if you wish to. No one is going to stop you (even if ST should).

Another duping story.

You dupe your entire gamefile, then, when you corrupt you replace the corrupted file with the older dupe file.

This does not give you an advantage. It merely clears up a disadvantage making the situation neutral and therefore you are still legit. Because at this new time, as the old data is destroyed, there is still only one set of data in use (whereas above two sets of identical data may be used to create an illigit advantace) in this scenario I find it acceptable to dupe.

And to all the OMG HAX people, remember duping is not hacking. Hacking is gaining access to restricted data. You do not need to do this to dupe, you may need to gain access to an area of the game that is supposed to be restricted, but through STs laziness it is not. Therefore duping is not HAX!

In a nutshell, if it gives you an advantage you would not have had (saving you time, or however small the crime may be) had you not duped, it makes you illigit.

Stacking items to 99 or stacking your equip menu so you have more than one weapon equipped at once is also non-legit.

Now if you don't want to neutralise glitch threats through dupe-backup (otherwise known as thinking ahead) then that is up to you!
