there was a thread`about it a pretty long time ago, I think, so if you search around the forums you may find something! that part of the game is truly a fun thing to do, its so worth it!

One needs to complete the Bernie Subplot, which involves talking to Bernie a lot of times - although when he does tell you his name, he say's it's Barnie. It also involves you telling Sue your name, so it means that you cannot get the Soul Eater in that difficulty though.

Still for the extension of Soul of Steel, and the second version of it - this progresses the storyline incredibly.

umm, is there any more to that sidequest? because that 'Barnie' thing, and the picture in the ending for Episode 1 where Sue is there and Bernie is surrounded by deminians really sent me to believe that there's more to the story...or am I just dreaming?
I may also be just dreaming when I recall, maybe incorrectly, that this 'Barnie' fellow was a bit tubbier and dumber.......?

During the sidequest itself, Bernie explains a lot of the backstory and about the 10 Nation Alliance behind the Pioneer Project; a lot of information is gleaned during Soul of Steel itself.

What were the "ten nations" exactly? Obviously they were countries on Coral... I guessed that they had the same names as the section IDs (BECAUZ THERE ARE TEN OF THEM LOL ).

What's weird to me is how Monty reveals the "purpose" of MOTHER in Soul of Steel, but in Seat of the Heart, Delta explains a whole different meaning of it (?)... :S

I've got a rough grasp on the links between the story and its backstory and forward as far as Ep3 (chronologically), I might be able to work out what's the case with MOTHER.
