K_I_R_E_E_K Wrote:i have an idea to the problem, but BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THIS. Registry editing isn't as dangerous as it's made out to be. If you're stupid enough to delete everything, that's your lookout. And to Phantom, I know, I guess they're hoping the majority of their users will be people who cant remove everything. ![]() EDIT- Thread has been merged with computer help thread.

Hi, need serious help here as i/my computer is being a serious dumbass. After firing her up this morning i get a message from windows that it is unable to log on using my profile as it is corrupt and got this in notepad:
[.ShellClassInfo] LocalizedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-21787 I then proceeded to log on using the temporary profile. have checked for virus and spyware all clean. Using windows xp on amd athlon800mhz tower. System restore brings no joy. Hopefully this is simple to fix heh, so any help from the enlightened would be seriously appreciated with presents of cake!

I dont think theres anyway to fix it. Just copy everything you needed from your old profile into a new one.

ok, this is starting to annoy me now so meh:
basically, explorer.exe will stop running for about 10 seconds every now and then for no reason whatsover. i can wait for it to return, or i can alt ctrl del it, delete it off the applications list then go to run>explorer.exe andthat gets it back quicker, but its still annoying!

jarl Wrote:ok, this is starting to annoy me now so meh:Download hijack this: http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/ run a scan, save the results and copy & paste the contents. Also try a spyware/virus scan if you havent done so already.
Ty Phantom for taking over whilst I was away. (No sarcasm
) Feel free to stay.To ArrogantElf: I get the feeling that this COULD be resolvable by replacing a .ini, I'm searching now. ![]() EDIT- Elf, are there any further details? I need as much as possible, thanks. ![]() To Jarl: Do what Phantom said. ^^

[.ShellClassInfo]
LocalizedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell 32.dll,-21787 This is all that appeared in notepad after boot-up on a temporary profile serpent7. Got a message at log-on screen saying profile corrupt and then a second message informing me that windows will boot using temporary profile and no changes will be saved. Thankyou for searching though.
