Hehe, you're right Orphen. The PC/PS2 community is fairly messed up! I'm not sure which game's gameplay I prefer, but I can think of a lot of things that I liked better in each of those games.

I see the gameplay of PSU to be superior to that of PSO. However, the Quality and Length of Life on PSO was far superior to PSU.

Yeah. PSO I got a character to level 100 in something like 110 hours, PSU less than 20. PSU is more of an online game than PSO was, there was more to do in the good old days offline. You could do some solo runs to find that Lavis Cannon perhaps, or the MKB, but there's no need to do that in PSU because what you do offline doesn't matter. It's an online game through and through, offline is just a small add-on.

Not to mention C-mode. That kept me around for about half a year longer, then even more so when the EP2 C-mode came out. I somewhat forgot the maps...but I think I could still pull off S ranks now. Lionheart and I were some C-mode kings. XD
Ugh..don't get me started on how broken Extra, even Offline mode in general is. It's ridiculous. Weapons are unorganized and scattered through towns with really no regard to...anything. Kubara wood is nigh impossible to find, and the board shop sells like 5 weapon boards. Not to mention you need to spend about triple the Meseta to make a 7* weapon with half the stats it has online. I managed to get my character from like, 1-60 in 5 hours, LOL ![]()

I probably could have, but I spent most of my time working on my PM >.>;
C-mode, I never really got into it much, apart from a few times going at it with sis.

Really saw no point in raising my PM. if you failed a synth, all you needed to do was reload. And I didn't much want to spend that much time making a PM that didn't matter.
Oh...the S Ranks...like my Berserk Poison Sword. Loved that thing. ![]()

I thought one HUGE thing that PSU was missing offline was multiplayer! I mean, how good your character is in offline mode already matters very little to anyone but yourself, but the fact that you can't even share that wittle lonely character with a friend... that is pure evil. PSU's fun level is far too dependent on online gameplay, while PSO is perfect no matter how you play!

I played MOST of my PSO time offline, and I loved the hell out of the game, shame my DC doesn't work anymore though.

nomercy Wrote:Berserk AND poison? ...Am I missing something here? No, I named it POISON SWORD. There really isn't anything poisonous about it, except for the fact that it killed the crap out of you. And yes I would agree. You can raise a character to use both off and online, for those moments or hours that your ISP craps out on you, you can still actually do something. For PSU, it was more like, "Well, guess I'll go play GU" for me. ![]() |
