Its allways good to learn japanese, then you can import JP games and understand them. Thats one of the reasons i decided to learn it. Tongue

It is quite a difficult language to learn, and if you dont use it or study it for a while, it is easy to forget.

For me yes. For many yes.... hehe. If you want to learn it to professional sort of level it's very hard. You have a huge 'alphabet' to learn, consisting of over 2,100 symbols, many of which look alike (to me). For basic understanding, I think you can get away with about 100, but that's the basic alphabet....
I think the grammar is slightly easier that English but you do have multiple levels of politness for most words. We can usually get away with adding sir/madame to the end to make it polite. Not here.

I'm planning on going on a scholarship to Japan. One year language study, one month homestay, 3 or 6 months work experience. I think it's perfect for me if I manage to get on it.... just have to wait 1 more year till I finished uni, then I'll try.

I think there was a little language topic about this before. Try searching the forum for "Japanese"

I am ok with loads of different words, like respect words (one word if talking to teacher etc, another if talking to a friend) and i do german and that has 12 different words for "the" etc, so i think i will cope with some of it

I really want to learn it though
