PSU... Better than PSO!?

Phantom_RAcast Wrote:You sit and mash the attack button over and over and then occasionally use a photon art which is just a flashy attack. How is that any better than PSO's combat system? You dont even have to try to time combos because they're completely taken out.

You're only considering this from the player output perspective, and are not considering damage intake. The ability to dodge enemy attacks with the circle-strafe adds real depth to combat now, since you benefit from increased accuracy from back attacks. I often find myself strafing one way across an enemy, baiting them into an attack, then doubling back and strafing round behind them to put the hurt on.

Also, it's not really mashing, there's just a (compared to PSO) huge window after an attack for your follow-up. I'm certainly more confortable timing attacks than I am mashing. The follow-up window's really short for PAs, too. Where were combos taken out? I still seem to be making three-hit combos with my weapons, which I can extend with my PAs.

A keyboard is now mine. Fear my fast-typing skills. I play the PS2 version of PSU.

I quit PSU on the basis that the mere chance I may have to meet Ethan again drove me away Tongue

That sucks
:beard: Stacking is not nearly as bad as duping, nor is it hacking. It is making good use of the glitch that SEGA failed to find. Using it unnecessarily is the true crime. Beat that philosophy somebody.:beard:

You could run away from an attack in PSO too. So what? It's still just mashing a button. Theres very little variance in attacking. Attacks arent really linked anymore. Its a single attack and then another and so on.

There are only 2 things PSU has over PSO the movement of the characters during combat and the improved graphics. Other than that PSO wins.

I would agree, I liked how you ran with a Longsword in PSU as if it weighed more than 2 lbs like in PSO.
Also got rid of that mildly unnerving walk...then run sequence.

Although I wish they kept the magic targeting system from PSO. I love shooting fireballs clear across the room and have it hit almost everytime. But in PSU I can't do that T_T.
