last time i tried blue and red together it went horribly wrong, i may go for the world eaters scheme as the lord has a very big sword

You could just build up an ulthwe force and have special stuff to do with kaine...

PF the trichk is to use only a little blue and then use a small brush to put more red on. I's not perfect but it looks surprisingly well.
Takes a couple of times to get it right

speaking of tricks, if i want to improve my painting skills i have to start using NMM (non-metallic-metal) effects (see the gun and sword hilt/pommel of my howling banshee) effects and directional lighting!!
...but i'm at a point where i cant paint model sketch or do anything art-related at the moment, it just all goes wrong :S
