I think he means you ONLY get it online, but CAN open it offline, when you can soft reset the egg.

Soft reset is a real thing. Its just that no one knows how to do it.

You can get easter eggs on the game (easter online) that you hatch and a random rare falls out (certin rares that you cannot get anywere else). It is totally random (not like teking were the item is almost always the same). But you can't hatch an egg and go "I dont like the item I just got so I'll glue the egg back together and then maybe another item will fall out." Thats why when you soft reset, it goes to the point were you didn't yet hatch the egg and the item is still random. Another rare might come out. Good luck finding an egg this year, Sega isn't celebrating easter this time. Who knows, maybe they've considered celebrating Passover insted.

Sega: "You can now find sedar plates insted of easter eggs! And can find matzo ball soup rappies!"

I really hope they celebrate other holidays though.

As someone sed earlyier why y try going trough all this trouble trying 2 find a method of doing sort reset when u can just get up offa ur lazy asses and prees the bloody reset button, its prbably only 2 cm from u neway!

Resetting does work, its just soft resetting is apparently quicker, so it means you can get the required item in a quicker time.
