My thoughts

So many of us are (understandably) dissapointed this game is only on PS2 and PC. Still, at least we had two terrific PSO games on Gamecube. Including the tremendous Episode 3 (even if not all of you enjoyed it quite as much as I did, and still am, even). It's not all bad though. For a start, it's hard to deny the game looks fantastic. The sci-fi aesthetics that always made PSO stand out, and to me, made it such a special experience return, as well as the greater structre, with missions etc. that many of us wanted more of in PSO. I don't own a PS2, and neither will I be getting one for this, but I think the PC version will be brilliantly handled. We all know the PC can handle online so well (such an obvious statement could seem like a joke!) and provided the graphics aren't too demanding, and I'm sure they can't be, as it's also coming out on PS2, we all have a PC on which we can run it.

All in all, we've all dealt with the initial blow of it not being on Gamecube, so why not look happily onto what we can expect from another great online Phantasy Star game, only this time on PC!

Some of us,do no own the computer,so have zero say on what goes on...my dad really had to be swayed to let me even get online for the GC..and if it costs extra to the Internet bill, which I guess it will....He wont have it..and..I just dispsise PS2...the controls are hard to handle, the games are very repetitive..and why buy a system that will be out of date soon...casue we all know..PS3 is in the making.

Heh. Not all of us.

Ah well. At least I have three friends with PS2s.
Baruk: Lvl 85 Male Human Fighgunner 15.
Amielle: Lvl 24 Female Newman Protranser 4.
Newest Synth: Sweet Deathic! ... 14% Light.
A keyboard is now mine. Fear my fast-typing skills. I play the PS2 version of PSU.

I'm dissappointed and excited at the same time. It's sad to see PSO leave the Cube after such a long, successful run. But it was a hard, yet smart decision for Sonic Team to decide to convert it to PS2 and PC. As some of you may know, the other MMORPG to do this sort of thing was Final Fantasy XI, and it aspired to be a great success. By putting PSU on PC and PS2, Sonic Team plans to pull from two of the largest fan-bases in gaming. Plus the two communities will most likely be able to play together on the same servers, thus resulting in a massive amount of players. It is sad to see Phantasy Star leave the Cube, but Sonic Team has plans to make PSU a much bigger success and to accomplish that they had to make the game available the most people they could. I truly look forward to seeing how big PSU hits when it comes out.

One thing that slightly worries me I forgot to mention though is something I found rather unclear in the interview. The possible lack of it using the hard drive for PS2 makes me wonder if that will force it to be a little simple in the downloadable content. We had pretty good download quests for the Gamecube, but I was hoping for something altogether more impressive with Universe.

mm Indeed, mr shoe.

Well, it was a blow to my outlook of PSU when I first learned that it was not going to be on the GameCube. But I'm over it. I have a PS2 as well as a fast, powerful PC. I will get it likely for the PS2 over the PC, however, simply due to my love of console games; and I feel I will fully enjoy PSU if it is on a console.

I agree with DoubleEdge, I too have a PS2 and though I'm a little TO'd about it not being for gamecube I'm sure I will still enjoy it.
Playing PSO2 ship 2, block 23. Account name AmongDoves, Player name Waltz.

Yep. It wouldn't really matter what platform you got PSU for, it would be difficult not to enjoy, I would say, judging by what I've read and seen.

It was sad seeing PSO leave DC to make a crappy port on GC/XBox. I really don't care, the only thing that disapppoints me is having to switch system cables everythime I want to play episode I and II, and PSU (obviously you see I could care less Wink) .

I'm not at all disapointed! it gives me a chance to do more of my online gameing on my pc (which I've been sliding towards), and plus pc & ps2 have a bigger online market, so there s a better chance of more people being online on it (that is if they make it online, if they dont I might not bother getting it)
