If the conversation goes away from its topic title, all that ends up being posted is mindless chat. Therefore there is no reason to keep the thread open, where it is then closed. As you can see the thread is reaching its 8th page of posts, were it starts to go out of control. But if conversation stays on the right lines, the topic can be kept open. If not it is just closed.

Threads will be closed when they go off topic because that influences spam, if you wish to discuss another topic please do so by searcing one that suits your convosational needs or make one yourself if your search bears no fruit.
