bt broadband??????

i've been gone a while now but i'm back cos i'm going online again soon plus i convinced a friend to get the game and go online.....problem is he's on bt broadband and we cant get the GC working online. :S we've phoned the helplines but they don't know or have given different info? can anyone help... I have scanned the help pages here but couldn't find anything of use.

What actual problems are you having in relation to the games?

Does it connect up, and then take you to a lobby screen giving you a problem error? Does it give you an error message while its trying to connect on the loading screen? If so what error message?

Have you entered all you connection info into the game? If not, what are you missing?

i belive we've put all the info in, but when we phoned and asked about the info they didn't know that a gamecube could be connected .... one of the 'helpers' hadn't heard of a gamecube. if we try connecting to the homepage we get to the point where it looks for the dhcp whotsit (or something like that) goes for about 10secs then fails

Hadn't heard of a Gamecube, lol! Well they are all based in India...

DHCP? Try connecting to the online game, and read out the error message it gives. Are you connecting it to your PC for the internet or to your ADSL Modem?

ok 2 things

1. the cube says (while on the sparkly screen i.e. loading) error 015: connection attempt failed. Failed to retrieve IP address from DHCP

2 the pc pops up with a message saying the connectivity to the network is limited or nonexistant.

i don't understand why this is happening since i did the same as my connection several months ago

Hmm, im unsure as to what DHCP is, and by the sounds of things, you do have your GC trying to access internet through your PC, in which case, you'll need someone more technical to help ya! Im sure its got something to do with ICS and making sure your IP address is the same as your computers so's not to cause an IP conflict.

i know what the dhcp is (not what it stands for) is something to do with the IP address changing each time you log on and the DHCP tells you what it is. This is what you set the GC to receive on auto mode.

Aha! I have had that exact error, when I take my GC to my freinds house and plug the BBA ino their modem, then attempt to connect online with all my usual settings (Same HL as at my house etc.) I get that error. We reckon his PC has such a strong norton anti-virus it thinks the GC is an extarnal 3rd party trying to hack it or something. But that can't be it, because if the PC was off, it wouldnt be able to block it, would it? I don't know, cos he's always had the PC on when I have attempted to connect and he refuses to turn off the gaurd jsut to see if thats it. Don't worrd, i'll bludgeon him and find a solution.
