A poem to clear my thoughts
#1
Steps of darkness to guide my thoughts
A blizzard of light ever blowing further across the horizon
A muddy uncertainty slows my progress
Redemption is but a stones throw from this consciousness

To wander the halls of doubt aimlessly
Finding nothing, discovering nothing
A glimpse of reality forever fading
Abandoning me on this cloudy path

Seeking what can’t be attained
Searching for what can’t be found
The stale wind to carry my plight
Through the canyons of my mind, so thin

Stopping briefly to recollect the past
Dashing swiftly to catch the future
An illusion of progress before me
A mirage of accomplishment at my back

For the past few days I've been very disconnected, my thoughts have been very scattered and I've been unable to focus on anything. This doesn't happen often, but when it does I find that the only way to clear it up is by writing. I usually write strange poems like this one to get the uncomfortable feelings out of my head. Just thought I'd post it here to see if anyone was interested in poetry. It seems that there really is a small depression bug going around, but writing this has helped...I feel much better now.

There is a depression bug going around.

I love the poem. Very surreal but an interesting way of talking about events. It kind of puts into words what I have been thinking about for a while.

Kisanzi you're back! Been absent a bit haven't we???? Yesh that poem is excellent. I can see you've not been yourself, your' writing is usually very thought out and together.........but the poem is very scattered.

So have you finished your' part of our guide. I need to have Lee walk me through Coranto, but then I'll be good to go....What about you?

Beautifully done. I like the raw emotion; you can really feel it in each line. Powerful words and images. The line:

"The stale wind to carry my plight
Through the canyons of my mind, so thin"

was amazing, easily in my opinion the most powerful words of them poem, kinda bring the rest of it together. Really nice work, I look forward to maybe seeing more of your poetry?
