there should be a game before eps one

Did you all ignore my post stating that there WERE several phantasy star games before PSO? They don't directly lead into PSO, but they do exist. Anybody here know about the old SMS and genesis games? There were two others, as well, but these weren't that interesting. Does anybody BUT me know about the old school PS games?

the old games do sort of lead into PSO, depending on what version of phantasy star 4 you play.

in in the western versions, PSO takes place during PS4, in the japanese version, PS4 is something like 1000 years after PSO.

dark falz has been around scince the first PS game but hes been called dark force before.

How is it taking place at the same time? This just makes no sense... I mean, where do the Pioneer ships come from? It aint from the Algol star system, but how else are there newmans on the ship? I could see it in the distant future, but.. it doesn't make sense that it's happening at the same time. Where do the pioneer ships come from, in relation to the older PS games?

Well if you look at the beginning it says that the old homeworld of the people from P2 was dying so they had to move on, that could be the world of the old PS games. I loved Phantasy Star 2 on my megadrive, it totally rocked and easily surpassed the old final fantasies (with the notable exception of FFV). If anyone wants these old PS games contact me on my MSN and I can send you an emulator complete with two old PS games for free. Well it's not my fault my megadrive is busted and i can't get my hands on a new on! Geeze it's not like I didn't ay for the games first time around. Oh yeah, and on the emulator you can save anywhere not jsut at save points via the sav-state command... Don't be a dirty cheat!

Back to Rico for a second... it's not possible for Rico to be a RAmarl because she uses a sword and a pair of daggers - hunter-only weapon classes. The Red Partisan is also a hunter-only weapon. The only inconsistency is the Red Mechguns which are ranger-only... so Rico was definitely a special case (or you could just chalk it up to ST trying to make another decent pair of ranger-only mechguns besides the Yas9k, which I can certainly understand... *loves his Red Mechgun* ).

i agree completely on PS2, its my fave of the series and possibly my fave RP game ever.

and yeah everyone left the old world, pioneers can easily be the ships that left the old world.

theres a number of references to this through PS4. to be honest id either have to play games again or find them on a hardcore PS fansite (they aint obvious but they are there). there was something in the japanese games though that didnt make the proper translation to english, that suggested PSO is 1000 years before PS4.

Then please explain the Hunewearl in the Graves Butler quest in caves who appears to be holding a rifle, yes, there is one there, go and look, it's not a RaMarl. I think when looking at NPC's the whole weapon compatibility thing can be thrown aside.

Yeah every time I do that quest I get a little freaked out by that...

And you can buy Phantasy Star Collection for the GBA... It contains the excellent PS2 and the not so stellar PS1 and PS3 Generations of Doom. And no PSO is completely seperate......the people of PSO come from a world called Coral.......not Palma, Dezoris, or Motavia...
